A simple path from sign-up to impact
We host seasonal volunteer days across the Rockford area. Choose an activity, show up ready to learn, and leave with practical skills—and a healthier local landscape.
1) Pick a project
Select a workday that matches your interests: tree planting, garden support, habitat restoration, or education events.
2) Get prepared
We’ll send details on location, timing, and what to bring. Tools are provided when possible; sturdy shoes and water are always a good idea.
3) Learn by doing
Our team and partners provide quick training on safe tool use, planting techniques, and ecological best practices.
4) Track your impact
We share project updates and outcomes—so you can see how your time supports biodiversity, soil health, and food security.

Sugar maple planting
Plant and protect young trees that support future local sap and shade.
Community garden workdays
Weeding, mulching, bed building, compost, and seasonal harvest support.
Food forest maintenance
Pruning, sheet mulching, watering plans, and perennial care.
Pollinator habitat builds
Install native plantings and create bee-friendly corridors.
Bee hive support
Assist with apiary tasks alongside experienced beekeepers (limited spots).
Wetland & native restoration
Remove invasives and plant natives to improve water quality and wildlife habitat.
