Our mission

Sustainable sugar production that restores land and supports neighbors

Rockford Sugar Society is a 501(c)(3) charity advancing local sugar production and ecological stewardship through hands-on education and community-led projects.

From maple plantings and food forests to wetland restoration and pollinator habitat, we bring volunteers, educators, and partners together to build resilient local food systems.

Food Forest

When it comes to providing fresh, locally grown food, food forests are an approach to growing food that incorporates all of the plant layers found in naturally occurring forests.

Whether you have an hour or a season, your time and support help grow maple plantings, pollinator habitat, and community food projects.
